[EAT_TRADITIONAL] 16.Gondeure & Bossam Table d'hote_Thistle & Boided Pork Table d'hote_곤드레 정식

Today what we are going to eat is "Gondeure table d'hote_Thistle table d'hote_곤드레식." Look at the visual! It looks quite fancy and plentiful, right?
Gondeure_Thistle_곤드레 is known as a healthy ingredient! Nowdays poeple eat this becuase we know it's good for health, while I heard from my mother that long time ago people in Gangwon-do, Korea ate this when they didn't have enough food to eat after war. It's actually "historical" ingredient :)

You know what? Actually today is Daeboreum in Korea. Daeboreum is the day of the first full moon of the year by the lunar calendar_대보름. In Daeboreum, we eat Namul_vegetables_나물, Ogokbap_five-grain rice_오곡밥 and, Nuts_견과류. To celebrate it, let's eat lots of Namul today!

Before you start eating, move all the rice to an empty ball.


Then you can pull some hot water in the hot pot. 
This is what we drink after finishing the food. 
It's called sungnyung_scorched rice water_숭늉

Eat it with Ssam! My brother is making the Ssam now.

What is Ssam? It's one of the common ways to eat in Korea. Normorally we put rice, meat, sauce, kimchi, vegetables, and etc. in Ssam. Really... it's upto you! You can make your own special Ssam!  Then wrap the ingredients in leaves of lettuce, cabbage, sesame, or other greens. Don't forget to try eating this way :) 



Few things to remind you about this place is...
  • You can refill more vegetables without extra charge! except for the meat!
  • I recommend you to eat sungnyung_scorched rice water_숭늉!
  • Ssam! Please make sure to try!
  • If you don't want meat, then order just table d'hote without meat. In general the table d'hote without meat is 2,000 KRW cheaper.
  • Gondeure is recommended for women. They recommend  Epimedium Koreanum table d'hote for men. Probably the owner of this restaurant considered nutrient for this recommendation. But it's just recommendation! you can order what you would like to try of course :)
